Non-Alcoholic Drink Recipes

Enjoy these recipes--all with no alcohol--all with great flavor!!

Orange Cafe Au Lait
½ cup powdered non-dairy creamer
½ cup sugar
½ cup instant coffee (dry) (you can use decaf)
1 teaspoon dried orange peel
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Whipped cream (optional)
Place all ingredients in blender or food processor. Cover and blend on high speed 30 seconds, stopping blender after 15 seconds to stir, or process, 5 to 10 seconds or until well mixed. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature no longer than 6 months. For each serving, place 2 teaspoons mix in a cup. Add 2/3 cup boiling water. For 6 servings, place ¼ cup mix in heat proof container and add 4 cups boiling water. Can be topped with whipped cream. Makes 24 servings.


Mexican Chocolate Tummy Warmer
1 quart milk
1 inch stick cinnamon
3 Tablespoons ground coffee (can use decaf)
2 squares sweet chocolate
½ cup boiling water
½ teaspoon salt
Heat milk to scalding with the cinnamon and coffee. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Strain milk mixture and add melted chocolate. Heat again until boiling point. Remove and add vanilla and salt. Beat until frothy and hot. Serves 6.


Spicy Apple Drink
2 gallons apple juice
5 large sticks of cinnamon
2 tsp. whole cloves
4½ oz (approximately ½ of a 9 ounce package) cinnamon flavored
candies (red hots)
2-3 orange ring slices (if desired)
Fill a 30 cup percolator with apple juice. Add other ingredients to basket. Percolate until done.


Open House Punch
1 cup boiling water
1 3-ounce package raspberry flavored gelatin
1 6-ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate
3 cups cold water
1 32-ounce bottle cranberry juice, chilled
1 28-ounce bottle grapefruit carbonated beverage, chilled
Ice or holiday ice ring
Pour boiling water over the gelatin; stir to dissolve. Stir in lemonade concentrate. Pour into large punch bowl. Add cold water and cranberry juice. Slowly add grapefruit beverage (Fresca) and stir until mixed. Add ice ring. Makes 24 (4 oz) servings.


Jaunty Orange Julius
1/2 of 6 ounce can (1/3 cup) frozen orange juice concentrate
½ cup milk
½ cup water
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
5-6 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in blender. Cover and blend until smooth. Makes 2-3 servings.


Fruit Lovers Milk Shake
3 cups Fresh fruit or canned fruit in natural or light syrup
½ cup nonfat dry milk
1 cup Water or drained juice from can
8 Ice cubes
Peel fruit, cut into pieces and mash through a strainer or food mill. Crush ice cubes. Blend fruit, milk powder and liquid with beater. Add ice and blend again. Makes: 4 servings, 1 cup each.


Lime Time
1 3 oz. pkg. Lime gelatin
1 cup Hot water
1/3 cup Bottled lime juice
1 12 oz. can frozen limeade
6 ½ cups Lemon-lime soda
½ teaspoon Almond flavoring
Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Stir in frozen limeade and almond flavoring. Add lime juice and lemon-lime soda. Cover and refrigerate. Serve over ice. Makes: 10 servings


Orange Blush
3 cups Orange Juice
1 6 oz. Can frozen lemonade concentrate
3 cups Water
3 cups Cranberry Juice
1 32 oz. Bottle ginger ale
Mix well and chill in advance. Add ginger ale just before serving. Makes: 1 gallon; 42-3 oz. servings.


Pineapple Sherbet Punch
1 32 oz. can frozen orange juice
1 18 oz. cans frozen lemonade
2 6 oz cans frozen pineapple juice
½ gallon pineapple sherbet
Add water to juice concentrates according to directions on cans. Chill and add sherbet just before serving. Recipe can be doubled for serving large groups. Serves 25.


Apricot Freeze
1 30 oz. can whole peeled apricots, reserve syrup
1 cup cracked ice
½ cup miniature marshmallows
2 T. lemon juice
1 cup milk
About 15 minutes before serving: Drain the whole peeled apricots. Set aside the reserved syrup and pit the apricots. In blender, combine apricots with the cracked ice and miniature marshmallows. Blend at low speed for 1 minute. Gradually add 1 cup milk, 1 cup of canned apricot syrup, and 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Blend until creamy. Serve in clear glasses and garnish with mint springs.
Makes: 6-8 servings
